I have actually already started implementing the product link feature.

I think instead of maintaining a separate list of linux friendly companies though, I will use my database to generate manufacturer overall ratings (this is actually already done on the right sidebar, but I think I'll make an extra page solely for the purpose of identifying the most linux friendly companies), so that linux friendly companies can be automatically identified by the ratings of their reviews.

I appreciate your support, if you have any other ideas let me know, I'm making changes to the site every day due to user's suggestions

Sam,

Love the site, looks like it has real potential in my view, One or two things that I automatically thought of were when you're on a product a click will send the information to a price checker site, so you can see how much one will cost, that's first thing that struck me when I found a webcam with a review of 5.0 and thought great, I'll take one... err... Who sells it. As a click through adv, that should generate some serious revenue I'd have thought.

Also a flag showing what isn't being manufactured/supported by the maker anymore. and a list of Linux friendly companies (like HP. Intel etc) You can get a full list here http://www.linux.org/vendor/hardware/index.html.

If you need a hand with anything, give me a mail, I'd be happy to help.

great site

and i posted somethings you could improve on so it becomes way better:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=722238

i hope u don't mind i repost it here or give you a few tips (as a web dev myself)

//////////

"nice initiative, but the site looks kinda dull and lacks interest (specially to your biggest audience: new users trying to migrate to linux and find supported hardware)

also, the ads everywhere don't help (they look too much like in-site links..), they have to look different.

if you want to build a loyal community you need to make a good effort to keep the interest on the site.

also, is a good idea to better organize everything into more categories for future growth and new users find stuff easier, specially peripherals.

-create a "5.0 score / work out of the box" section.

-pictures and maybe some videos would help a lot too (like 500% more)

-use some kind of ubuntu/tux logo on your site (one free to use or created by yourself of course)

-titles (specially for rss feeds could be more descriptive)

i.e rss feeds:
4.0 - Works well (Asus A6B00U) <--- what is this ?
5.0 - Works out of the box with 7.10 (LUCKY STAR K7MKLE) <---- and this is ?

you could use brackets like: [agp video card][webcam][laptop], etc..

i think the site is awesome but you really need to fix the stuff above

good luck to your proyect"
